We collect the following information when you use LeakShield: Account Information: Your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). Scan Information: The usernames or stage names you provide for monitoring. We use these to search publicly accessible websites and platforms. Scan Results: URLs, domain names, page titles, and metadata from publicly indexed web pages that match your username queries. Payment Information: Subscription tier and billing status. Payment details are processed and stored securely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. Usage Data: Basic service usage information such as login timestamps and feature usage for service improvement. What we do NOT collect: We never access your content platform accounts (OnlyFans, Fansly, etc.). We never view, download, or store your actual content. We only scan publicly accessible, already-indexed information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: Perform automated scans across search engines and platforms to detect potential unauthorized copies of your content. Generate DMCA takedown notices with accurate hosting provider and registrar information. Process your subscription payments and manage your account. Send you email notifications about scan results, takedown status updates, and service announcements. Improve and maintain our scanning technology and service reliability. Provide customer support when you contact us.
3. DMCA Filings & Identity Protection
When we file DMCA takedown notices on your behalf, we use LeakShield's company information as the filing agent to protect your personal identity. Your name, email address, and personal details are not disclosed to site operators or hosting providers in the takedown notices. However, as a legal requirement, the copyright holder (you) may need to be identified in certain legal proceedings if a counter-notice is filed. We will notify you before any such disclosure.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party service providers, and only as necessary to operate our service: Stripe: For secure payment processing. Resend: For transactional email delivery (scan alerts, account notifications). Hosting Providers & Registrars: When filing DMCA notices on your behalf, we share the infringing URL and copyright claim information (not your personal details) with the relevant hosting provider or registrar. We may also disclose information when required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including: Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS. Secure password hashing using bcrypt with high-cost salt rounds. JWT-based authentication with time-limited tokens. Regular security audits and access controls. No system is 100% secure. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Scan results and takedown history are retained for the duration of your subscription to provide historical reporting. Upon account cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for data export, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request immediate deletion of all your data at any time by contacting support@getleakshield.com.
7. Cookies
We use minimal cookies for essential functionality only: Session cookies to maintain your login state. Preference cookies to remember your settings (e.g., billing cycle selection). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your account. Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. Export: Download your scan results and takedown history. 9. Children's Privacy
LeakShield is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before changes take effect. Your continued use of LeakShield after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
